Dr. Subhash Chandra Layek |
Dr Subhas Chandra Layek, an Indian Botanist, popularly known as ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BOTANICAL NAMES was born in a small town called Dumka, located in the border of Jharkhand and West Bengal, India. Dr. Subhas was educated at Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. After receiving B.Sc. (H), M.Sc. and PhD in Botany, he started teaching at Santhal Pargana College, Dumka in Jharkhand. Thirty five years experience as a teacher of botany, during his twenty five years have been given to a graduate and post graduate course on the various branches of Botany and ten years to a course which combined with this consideration a parallel study of the most important cultural and inoculation methods used by the practical bacteriologist and mycologist at the present day. He has contributed many research papers and articles in various national journals and seminar / conference proceedings. In the previous days of teaching he was engaged with all types of botanical experiments in laboratory. The students enjoyed their learning exposure with him Having and many faculties from various colleges and universities also used to consult with him for his expertise in the plant domain. Most of the time his tour with students in various location for study provided rich experience. |
